Family Hike to The Tent Rocks
We packed a light lunch and headed up the road for a short Saturday morning hike up to Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument. Kasha-Katuwe means white cliffs. The cone shaped tent rock formations are the products of volcanic eruptions that occurred 6 to 7 millions years ago and left pumice, ash and tuff deposits over 1,000 feet thick.

Let Christmas 2013 Commence!
SANTA IS HERE!! The thing about taking our Prince to see Santa this early in the season is two fold 1) I'm not sure how much longer he will believe 2) There are no lines.
So, once I learned that the big man was at the mall, it was a no brainer. It doesn't hurt that this mall is amazing and there were pants at Macy's I wanted to grab....oh and not let's ignore the fact that there is a Starbucks on both levels.
Merry Christmas!!!!
Ho Ho Ho.... and all that jazz.
His present from Santa.

Happy Father's Day 2013
To all the King Dad's out there and to the Queen Mom's or Royal Grandparents who sometimes have to step in and take on the Daddy roll, today we hope you are honored and love.
The Prince hit the jackpot with his King Dad!
King Dad enjoyed his customary breakfast in bed (and it included BACON, REAL BACON!), followed by presents and now he is napping. I'm about to put the smack down on the Prince in Wii Iron Chef!

Enjoy your day.

First Annual Mash-Tater Fight - May 2013
A couple of weeks ago a fellow homeschooling momma, Lisa, mentioned her kids wanted to have a mash potato fight. My wheels started turning. What kid wouldn't want that?! So, I mentioned it to hubs who quickly responded with the "You are a nut-job!" look. I knew right then and there it was a brilliant idea and more importantly must be a complete surprise to the Prince.

Saturday morning we set off for the downtown ABQ farmer's market and then hubs drove us to the beautifully green and vacant soccer fields!

The Prince was told to stand with his eyes closed for his surprise. Hubs and I prepped.
The Prince was allowed to open his eyes and identified the instant mash-taters he saw me making earlier (HA! He thought they were dog food!!).

Afterward, we tried to wipe off and then we played a bit of tag!
All that excitement ended with a relaxing snack while we allowed the mash-taters to dry, so we could get into the car and race home to the showers. Okay, technically Queen Mom got the shower first and the boys got the water hose. Ha!
Look at this face!! Wouldn't you say it was worth $1.88 box of instant mashed potatoes and a mommy and daddy crazy enough to have a food fight?
I do!
